“At its most recent meeting, the WTCA Board of Directors promoted Robert J. Frueh to the position of WTCA Executive Vice President, with responsibility of running the current day-to-day operations of the Association.
Rob has been actively working in World Trade Centers since 1994, when he was hired as part of a team that helped to establish a small-market World Trade Center in the United States. Rob’s experience at the local World Trade Center level spanned over ten years, having worked first as an International Trade Specialist for the first few years before being promoted to its Executive Director and President.
In 2002, Rob was appointed Chair of the WTCA’s Quality & Standards Committee, where he worked to expand the training and business development of WTCs through the WTCA’s Certification Program. In 2009, the WTCA Board asked Rob to assume the position of Interim Chief Operating Officer of the WTCA, and in April 2010 Rob took on the role of Director of Member Services. During these varied assignments, Rob has worked diligently to help make WTCA a more effective trade association for its Members.
Prior to his nearly two decades of work on behalf of the WTCA, Rob worked for several major internationally focused corporations, including McKesson and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Rob’s academic studies were in both the United States and in Europe, and he holds an International MBA from Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of Global Management in Arizona.
In his new position, Rob is focused on implementing WTCA’s renewed commitment to its members to strengthen the overall global network of World Trade Centers and to build the awareness and value of our trusted brand. He continues to work in full support of galvanizing WTCA’s new and existing member relationships around the world in full support of the Association’s established growth targets which call for the addition of 100 new World Trade Center cities by 2017.”
